Curriculum guide by the
Early Years Learning Framework
Our program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, Australia’s national curriculum for children from birth to five and their transition to school.
The Framework sets out principles, practices and learning outcomes that define quality early learning, with a strong emphasis on play, relationships, communication, wellbeing and belonging.
Children learn through a play based program that is:
- Structured enough to feel secure
- Flexible enough to follow children’s interests
- Intentional about building language, thinking, social skills and confidence
We recognise that each child comes with their own mix of interests, temperament and potential. Our job is to notice those things, foster them and create pathways to a successful start to life, while giving you the reassurance that your child is where they should be.
How learning looks
at each stage
Nursery
(around 6 weeks to 2 years)
For our youngest children, everything begins with connection. Educators follow your child’s cues and routines for sleep and feeds as closely as possible. The room offers safe floor play, soft spaces to be held, gentle music and movement, and early books and conversations. The focus is on security, attachment and an early sense that the world is a safe place.
Toddlers
(around 2 to 3 years)
Toddler life is full of new words, big feelings and “me do it”. We channel that energy into learning. Children have space for role play, construction, art, music and outdoor movement. Early literacy and numeracy are woven into everyday play. Educators guide children as they learn to build friendships, through positive interactions.
Preschool
(around 3 to 6 years)
In the preschool years, children are ready for deeper thinking and more responsibility. Small group times build early literacy and numeracy. Children work on projects that follow real interests, take on jobs in the room and practise caring for their belongings. There is still plenty of time for imaginative play and outdoor exploration.
Food that parents can trust:
Our seasonal menu is developed with a specialised nutritionist so it meets and exceeds national dietary guidelines for children.
Across the week children enjoy a balance of:
- Whole grains, lean proteins and dairy or suitable alternatives
- A generous variety of local, farm-fresh fruit and vegetables prepared in child-friendly forms
- Reduced added salt and refined sugar free ingredients in all meals
- A mix of familiar favourites and new tastes to gently widen their palate
We cater carefully for allergies and dietary needs, working with you on safe alternatives.
How we support
families and transitions
Handing your child over to someone else, especially for the first time, is a big step. We take that seriously.
Before your child starts, we invite you in for orientation visits. You and your child can spend time in the room, meet educators and see the rhythm of the day. Sights, sounds and faces become familiar before the first full drop off.
On those first days, goodbyes are not rushed. Educators are ready at the door with the right approach for your child, whether that is a cuddle, a quiet corner or an engaging activity. We send updates and photos so you are not left wondering how they are.
